South Coast – The Black Beach – Private Tour
Admission charges to the museum of Skógar is not included.
From Reykjavík we drive over the plateau of Hellisheiði, past the greenhouse village of Hveragerði, to the village of Hvolsvöllur Along the way we visit two magnificent waterfalls: Seljalandsfoss a tall thin beauty of 73 meters, where one can walk behind the waterfall, and Skógafoss, a 60 meter roaring giant that you can approach, as close as you dare. This area was badly hit by the floods from the eruption at Eyjafjallajökull in the spring of 2010 but has been restored.
The museum of Skógar is one of the best folk museums in the country with old houses made of turf.
There is also the beautiful black Reynisfjara Beach, Iceland´s southern most point with a magnificent sea cave to explore. We continue to the village of Vik, Iceland´s southern most village with its beautiful sea stacks just off-shore (rumored to be Trolls playing in the sea but caught in the rising sunlight turning to stone).

This tour takes about 8-9 hours so it’s a full day. We can pick you up at your accommodation or at the cruise ship dock in Reykjavík.

ADD THE JÖKULSÁRLÓN GLACIER LAGOON TO YOUR TOUR
You can add a visit to the magical Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon in the south east of Iceland to your tour. Please note that this adds 5 hours to an already long day making the duration of the tour 13-14 hours in total. This addition is not advisable during the darkest months when daylight is limited.

The price differs depending of number of passengers traveling. If you are booking for 1-3 passengers you choose 1 in “Tour 1-3 people” in the box on the right. If you are booking for 4-8 passengers you choose 1 in “Tour 4-8 passengers”.
The South Coast Spectacular tour is dependent on weather and we exercise the right to cancel the tour if the conditions call for it. If we need to cancel because of weather, we will of course give you a refund.
